The letter dated 11-27-09 from our Middle School Builders Club is addressed to Kiwanians Patricia DiRaffaele and Sal Puglia, and reads as follows: Dear Miss Patti and Mr Sal, Thank You so much for coming to the Copiague Middle School to visit members of the Builders Club. The cupcakes and treats were absolutely stunning. Everyone was thankful for the visit and the treats. Thank You so much for suporting our Club. Mrs Maria Ostrofsky ("Ms.O" as she is affectionately called by her young charges) has received "Honoray Membership" in the Kiwanis Club of Copiague for her outstanding work as a faculty advisor to the Builders Club at the Copiague Middle School.. Ms. O has held that position for the past few years and currently fosters a membership of close to 40 members.. Maria encourages her young constituents to become involved with various community service level projects and activities.. To Maria's right, is Patricia ("Patty") DiRaffale, President-Elect of the Kiwanis Club of Copiague, who presented the certificate... They are surrounded by several of the Builders Club members... In a separate photo, Patty is presenting a copy of the check sent to Kiwani International by the Kiwanis Club of Copiague which was used to pay for the annual renewal of the Builders Club charter.. This $150.00 check represents part of our Club's financial commitment to our "sponsored youth" at the middle school.. The members of the Builders Club have been working on a series of projects including, but not likited to: collecting money for UNICEF, conducting a toy drive for the "John Theisen Children's Foundation", conducting a Make-A-Wish Ornament Fundraiser, and organizing a Military Care Package.. The Military Care Package will be sent overseas with active serviceman Andrew Polladino... In addition to the items gathered in the care package, each Club member crafted an individualized happy holliday card... The Builders Club have tentavively scheduled their Holiday Party for Monday December 21st. Kiwanis Advisors Patty DiRaffaele and Sal Puglia plan to be in attendance to help the youngsters celebrate the holidays in grand and "dlicious" style...!!! :0) These photos were taken by Director Sal Puglia at a Builders Club meeting on Thursday, November 12th...
